Tips for Staying Healthy as COVID-19 and Flu Season Continue

While the CDC continues to recommend getting a yearly flu vaccine to aid in protection from flu viruses, experts also emphasize the important of cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces frequently such as tables, door handles, light switches, countertops, phones, sinks, toilets and keyboards can help mitigate the potential spread from these contaminated surfaces. 

To help control the spread of these viruses and limit exposure, the CDC recommends that you wash your hands frequently for 60 seconds at a time, or when washing your hands is not an option, using hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol. As well as keeping your hands away from your face and eyes, and wearing a mask or even gloves to protect others. 

For daily effective cleaning at home or at work, start by washing down surfaces with soap and water, then follow up with a disinfectant.
