At SERVPRO of St. Augustine, St. Augustine Beach, S. Nocatee and World Golf Village, we understand the anxiety that comes when a water loss event hits your St. Augustine home or business. Our professionally trained staff is accustomed to handling these emergencies, and we strive to minimize the disruption for you so you can get back to normal life, soon.
But what does the process look like? Well, every water damage event is a little different and requires a unique approach, but the general process stays the same. The water damage restoration process can be broken down into 5 steps:
1. Emergency Contact: The process begins when you call us, we know that this is a stressful and confusing time so our staff is here to walk you through the crisis by asking you a variety of questions to help our emergency team best gauge what equipment and resources they need to bring to begin to help you, and your property as quickly as possible.
2. Damage Assessment: At this stage, our team will begin a detailed assessment of your property to determine the source of the loss and the extent of the damage to ensure proper and complete restoration and dry out.
3. Water Extraction: During this step is when the majority of the water is removed. Removing most of the water is helpful in reducing drying time and preventing mold growth. If carpet pad and carpet pad removal or a pack-out of items are needed, it will happen at this step.
4.Drying & Dehumidification: Once the excess water is removed from the property our team will set equipment to further dry it out. From there, we will carefully monitor the process using moisture meters until materials meet drying goals.
5. Restoration: Once the property is dry, the final step is restoring your property to its preloss condition. Restoration may involve minor repairs, such as replacing drywall and installing new carpet or it may entail major repairs, such as the reconstruction of various areas or rooms in a home or business.

Nocatee and World Golf Village can simplify the restoration process by handling both the initial water damage mitigation and rebuilding the affected areas.
